Colorado Springs, CO (Sports Network) - Air Force signed men's basketball head coach Jeff Reynolds to a new five-year contract that runs through the 2012-13 season on Wednesday.

Details of the deal, which is still going through the Academy process, are still being worked out.

Reynolds, who was promoted to the head coaching position in April of 2007, completed his first season at the helm of Air Force with a 16-14 record and guided the Falcons to a fifth-place finish in the Mountain West Conference.

Before taking over the Air Force program, Reynolds had been an assistant at the school for two years under Jeff Bzdelik, who left the Falcons to take over at Colorado.

Reynolds had previously served as a head coach, leading programs at Division II Wingate and North Carolina Wesleyan College.

At Wingate, he posted a three-year record of 61-27 with marks of 23-6 and 26-4 in his final two seasons. His one-year stint at NC Wesleyan produced a record of 21-7 with a Dixie Conference championship.

Reynolds has also held Division I assistant coaching positions at James Madison, Winthrop, Tulane, North Carolina-Wilmington and his alma mater, North Carolina-Greensboro.
