Oxford, MS (Sports Network) - Ole Miss announced Thursday that it has extended the contracts of men's basketball head coach Andy Kennedy and athletics director Pete Boone through June 30, 2012.

"I truly appreciate the opportunity I've been given by Chancellor Khayat and Pete Boone to be a part of the Ole Miss family," Kennedy said. "I'm excited about the future of Ole Miss Basketball as we continue in our attempts to move our program forward."

Kennedy earned 2007 Southeastern Conference Coach of the Year honors after guiding the Rebels to an SEC Western Division championship, and the club advanced to the 2008 NIT Final Four in his second season at the helm.

Kennedy has guided the team to consecutive 20-win campaigns for a total of 45 victories, which is a school record for an Ole Miss coach in his first two seasons.

"We are fortunate to have Andy and his family at Ole Miss," Boone said. "The success Andy has had his first two years and his electric personality has created enthusiasm with our fans".

Boone is completing his 10th year as director of athletics,
