Stremme to replace injured Franchitti

Talladega, AL (Sports Network) - David Stremme will replace Dario Franchitti in the No.40 Chip Ganassi Dodge after Franchitti was injured in a crash during Saturday's Nationwide Series event.

Franchitti broke his left ankle and suffered minor contusions during the lap 11 crash which started when one of his tires blew apart. Franchitti hit the outside wall and slid down the track where Larry Gunselman slammed into the driver's side.

"It's just for this weekend, because I'm here, and I've worked with the team before," Stremme said.

Stremme drove the No.40 Dodge last year, finishing 24th in the championship.
