Tampa, FL (Sports Network) - Chad Dawson retained his WBC light heavyweight title with a unanimous decision over Glen Johnson. All three judges scored the fight 116-112.
Dawson (26-0, 17 KOs) used his combinations and his left-handed jab, but Johnson (47-12-2 32 KOs) continued to stay in the fight throughout.
Dawson, though, took over the fight in the sixth round as he would fire off combos and pull away from Johnson.
Johnson caught Dawson with a solid right in the 10th and threw everything he had at Dawson in the final two rounds, but it was not enough to win the fight.
In the second fight, Antonio Tarver unified the IBO and IBF titles with a unanimous verdict over English import Clinton Woods.
Tarver (27-4, 19 KOs) earned the unanimous verdict by scores of 116-112, 117-111 and 119-109 over Woods (41-4-1, 24 KOs).
