Brady Hoke and Ball State agree to enhanced contract

Muncie, IN (Sports Network) - Ball State University athletics director Tom Collins announced Wednesday that the school has signed head football coach Brady Hoke to an enhanced contract.

The deal will raise Hoke's annual salary to $240,000 per year and includes additional and enhanced incentives. The contract also contains a buyout clause in the event Hoke leaves before it expires.

"We are very excited to have this completed and to have Brady Hoke continue as the head football coach at Ball State," said Collins. "We are pleased with the leadership Coach Hoke has provided our football program, and with the positive direction the football program is headed under his guidance."

Hoke is under contract through the 2010 season.

"My family and I are very excited to have the opportunity to continue as the head football coach at Ball State University and to have the new contract completed," said Hoke. "We owe a lot of thanks to the university administration, especially President Gora and Tom Collins, for their show of commitment to our staff and what we are accomplishing here at Ball State."

Hoke, who was a four-year letterman at the school from 1977-80, took over the program on December 18, 2002.

The Cardinals are coming off a 7-6 campaign, which featured a Mid-American Conference West Division Co-Championship and a berth in the International Bowl.
